Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescents
Chicken Cordon Bleu is a classic dish that I never see anymore, it must have been an 80s thing. But those flavors are still DELICIOUS so I wanted to make it in a way my family would love and not take a bunch of time or steps. My kids will eat anything in crescent roll dough so that seemed like a good place to start and then I had some leftover shredded chicken and this was born. They are so simple to get together and you can multiply it for however many people are at your table. These would also be great little handheld appetizers whenever we can have parties again. Put them in your kid’s lunchboxes or have a casual dinner with some salad on the side.
Chicken Cordon Bleu Crescents
1 tube crescent rolls
2 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
8 slices swiss cheese
8 oz black forest ham slices
shredded chicken
salt and pepper
- Preheat the oven to 375 and cover a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Roll out the crescent rolls and separate into the 8 triangles. Brush a little Dijon mustard on to each triangle, top with a square of swiss cheese, place a couple slices of ham, then a bit of cooked, shredded chicken.
- Roll the crescent up and place on the baking sheet, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
This is a great use of leftover chicken or a rotisserie bird you buy from the store. I always have these things in my house - my hubs loves swiss cheese, my girls love ham, and crescents are always a good idea.
I like to work with 4 at a time - get them into their triangles and prep your assembly line.
A little dollop of Dijon and brush it all over the dough.
Place your cheese on there, don’t worry if it hangs over, that just means crispy cheese later.
Take a couple slices of ham and spread them out. I like Black Forest ham but use whatever you have on hand.
Chicken down!
Hold the fillings while you roll them up
All rolled up and then sprinkle with a little salt and pepper. Ready to bake!
