Kids Snack Board Dinner
New Year’s Eve dinner is usually pretty casual around here, lots of nibbles and definitely not staying up ‘til midnight. For the kids, I made a snack board dinner, a bunch of little things they like and can graze all night long. These are also so fun to put out for a playdate or sleepover, kids love the freedom to choose. This isn’t really a recipe but the best combo I have made that is a total hit with kids and adults alike. You have to have fruit, veggies, crackers, some meats, cheese, a “dinner entrée”, and of course the sweets. It’s a kiddo version of those grazing boards us adults love.
For the “dinner entrée” I made some homemade Bagel Bites and they taste so much better but as always, if buying those frozen guys are more your jam, do it! This is all about making it easy. Grab your kid’s favorite lunch meat, cheese (I was extra by using a little cutter on them), and I used one of those Tollhouse refrigerated dough packs for the cookies. You can totally prep this ahead of time and throw it all on a cutting board or baking sheet!
The best part of a board like this, you can totally adapt it to your family’s dietary needs. Whether it is dairy free, gluten free, vegan, low carb, or even Whole30 or Paleo. These are also super fun for a dinner when you don’t really want to cook and you can all share!
