Italian Shredded Pork Crescent Bake
If you know me in real life, you probably know I LOVE leftovers and have three freezers to prove it. This recipe is all about recreating leftovers into something else and making it super delicious. Be fair warned, this is NOT a low calorie, clean eating, Whole30 recipe, it is all comfort food using all those cans you pop and scoop. I created this recipe while we were having our kitchen remodeled a couple years back. This only requires leftovers and an oven, perfect for what I needed in that time. It took forever to bake in that little convection oven but dang it was good enough for us to want it the next time we had some Slow Cooker Shredded Italian Pork hanging out in the freezer. You could also make the pork fresh to make this, or even use my Slow Cooker Creamy Italian Chicken in place of pork.
Any way you stuff it, it is a twist on that Pinterest favorite of Cresecent Chicken, but with Italian flavors, and definitely not at all authentic, Merican style, ya know? Serve it with a salad and some of your favorite green vegetables for a family meal everyone will love. I kinda wish I had more pork hanging out in the freezer for when family is in town for Christmas, perfect to feed a crowd or bring to a potluck!
Italian Shredded Pork Crescents
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 can of milk of choice
1 Tablespoon Italian Herb seasoning + more for sprinkling
2 teaspoons granulated garlic
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 cans crescent rolls
3-4 cups leftover Slow Cooker Shredded Italian Pork or meat of choice
2 cups Shredded Cheese, mozzarella or Pizza mix
- Preheat the oven to 350. Spray a baking dish with oil of choice.
- In a bowl, stir the cream of chicken, milk, herbs, garlic, and pepper, until will combined.
- Pop the can of crescent rolls and separate into each triangle. Place a small portion of shredded meat onthe large end of the triangle, then roll up, place seam side down in the baking dish. Continue until all bundles are made.
- Pour the sauce oven the bundles evenly and sprinkle with cheese and a little Italian herbs.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until puffed up, broil for a couple minutes to brown.
- Remove from oven and let set for about 10 minutes before serving.
Roll out that can and pop some meat then roll it up, it is literally that simple!
Get them all in the dish, pour over that sauce, and sprinkle with cheese. It is that easy and then you just need to bake them.
