German Sheet Pan Dinner

German Sheet Pan Dinner

As you can probably tell, I am OBSESSED with sheet pan dinners, I cannot get over the ease of making dinner in one shot. But you can definitely get into a boredom pattern of chicken, potatoes, and something green. I like to take inspiration from all over the world to change it up and this time, I was going for a German twist. It was serendipity because I had the idea and then sugar free Kielbasa was on super sale so I knew it had to be made. The hubs and I loved it and the kids enjoyed the sausage and potatoes, I was really hoping the girls would be into the purple but alas, it was a no go. Which is funny because they love the Pink and Purple Dinner but maybe the difference is the thinly sliced over the big chunks. Either way, this is a good dinner.

German Sheet Pan Dinner

  • 1 1/2 pounds red potatoes, sliced into 1/2” slices

  • 3 Tablespoons oil, divided

  • 1 small purple cabbage, halved and sliced into 1” chunks

  • 1 Kielbasa link, compliant or favorite plant based links, sliced into chunks

  • 1 apple, sliced

  • 2 teaspoons salt, divided

  • 1 teaspoon pepper, divided

  • 1/2 cup stone ground mustard

  • 1/4 cup dairy free plain yogurt

- Preheat the oven to 425, pull out two baking sheets.

- Toss the potato slices with 2 Tablespoons oil, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Arrange in a single layer on one sheet pan.

- On the other sheet pan, place the cabbage and Kielbasa, drizzle cabbage with 1 teaspoon oil and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Spray some oil on the Kielbasa and season with remaining salt and pepper.

- Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven, flipping the potatoes and cabbage and tossing around the sausage. Add the apples to the pan with the cabbage. Bake for an additional 8-10 minutes.

- While it is baking, combine the mustard and yogurt, serve alongside the dinner for drizzling and dipping.

Using two baking sheets allows you to get crispy potatoes. Season them up and lay them out in a single layer.

You need to cut out the core of the cabbage, it is tough and doesn’t cook well.just take it out and chop into large slices.

Sausage and cabbage sheet pan. Bake it, take it out, flip everything and add the apples. So easy and so good!
