Chicken Apple Sausage Patties

Chicken Apple Sausage Patties

Something you will learn pretty quickly on the Whole30 is that you will need to make things from scratch you never thought of, mayo, salsas, dressings, and sausage. Most breakfast sausages contain sugars and other weird chemicals to bind and preserve. This is a recipe I developed for my first round of Whole30 and it is a favorite for breakfast, it has all the sweet and savory you might be craving. It is also fantastic to meal prep and have ready in your freezer, just microwave it for a minute or warm in a pan. My favorite way to serve it up is with sweet potatoes, a little avocado or guacamole, and topped with a fried egg.

Chicken Apple Sausage Patties

  • 1 large Apple , finely diced
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 Tbsp sausage seasoning mix, mine is from Well Fed cookbook
  • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • Cooking oil, I used olive oil

- combine all the ingredients together in a large bowl with your hands
- using a 1/4 cup measure, form patties and place on parchment paper

You have two choices on how to cook the patties:

Stovetop
- heat oil in large skillet on medium high heat
- place patties into the skillet and cook unto brown and cooked through, make sure not to crowd the pan, I did mine in two batches
- place on paper towels and cool completely before storing

Oven

- Preheat oven to 350, bake for 15 minute or cooked through

Here are some ways I have enjoyed the patties for breakfast!!!
